The Counting Crows’ unique style defies description: They have been called everything from “unpredictable,” to “quirky” to “genius,” but even fans are hard-pressed to place them in a pop category. Well, whether you want to call them alternative or rock, or both, one thing is clear: The Counting Crows are a sight to see, and you won’t want to miss their upcoming concert. Buy your Counting Crows tickets today from SeattleTixx.com and find out for yourself how this band became one of the most exciting musical acts on the pop-music scene today. Even though no one will forget the 1993 single, “Mr. Jones,” that hovered near No.1 and brought them notices, the Crows have a deeper diverse style that has been compared to Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan. They can just as easily belt out an old-fashioned love song (like “Accidentally in Love,” recorded for the film, “Shrek 2) as they can groan with the existential angst that their fans love them for. It has been over than four years since the Crows recorded their last original album, so make sure you see them live when they come to your town on this limited concert tour! Buy your Counting Crows tickets, and online tickets for everything you need, at SeattleTixx.com today and you’ll understand why the fans come to us.

David Bryson and Adam Duritz started the Counting Crows in San Francisco in 1991, and played as a local acoustic band until adding new members in 1993. This turning point in their history led to the release of their debut album, “August and Everything After,” which spawned the hit single, “Mr. Jones.” “Jones” rocked the charts and hovered near No. 1, but perhaps the band’s most pivotal moment came in 1994, when they filled in for Van Morrison at a Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame ceremony and the world could match their fresh faces with their name. Their chameleon-like and unapologetic style kept these self-styled renegades on the road less traveled with follow-up albums “Recovering the Satellites” in 1996, and “This Desert Life” in 1999. However, the radio waves showed them favor again with the 2002 single, “Big Yellow Taxi,” (a cover of Joni Mitchell’s tune) which was included on the 2002 “Hard Candy” album, and the band’s following solidified. They released a best of album, “Films About Ghosts,” in 2003; but it was the 2004 surprise Academy Award-nominated hit, “Accidentally in Love,” (recorded for the “Shrek 2” soundtrack) that showed their real promise of diversity. 2006 brought the release of “New Amsterdam: Live at Heineken Music Hall” (recorded from their 2003 tour), however, the band has not released an original album in over four years. The band is rumored to be working on a 2007 release and, with Counting Crows tickets from SeattleTixx.com, you could be lucky enough to hear previews. Today’s Crow line-up includes Dan Vickrey, David Immergluck, Jim Bogios, and Charles Gillingham in addition to founders Duritz and Bryson. Don’t miss this latest and greatest line-up. Did You Know
'''Counting Crows''' is an American rock band originating from Berkeley, California, formed in 1991. The group gained popularity in 1994 following the release of its debut album, ''August and Everything After'', which featured the hit single "Mr. Jones".
The band's influences include Van Morrison, R.E.M., Mike + The Mechanics, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, and The Band. They received a 2004 Academy Award nomination for the song "Accidentally in Love", which was included in the film ''Shrek 2''.
According to the official band website, Counting Crows has sold over 20 million records worldwide.
History Formation Singer Adam Duritz (former member of the Bay Area band The Himalayans) and guitarist Dave Bryson formed Counting Crows in San Francisco in 1991. In addition to his experience in The Himalayans, Duritz had contributed to recordings by the Bay Area group Sordid Humor ("Barbarossa"), though he was never a member.
Counting Crows began as an acoustic duo, playing gigs in and around Berkeley and San Francisco. Another friend, guitarist David Immerglück, played with them from time to time, though he was not an official member of the group, experimenting with other musicians in the area. As the emerging band recorded some demos, and later, as other musicians joined the duo to make a full band, Immerglück recorded with the others on some of the songs on their first album. He declined joining the band at the time, because of his membership in two other locally popular bands; Monks of Doom and Camper Van Beethoven. By 1993, the band had grown to a stable lineup of Duritz as vocalist, occasional pianist, and primary songwriter, Bryson on guitar, Matt Malley playing bass guitar, Charlie Gillingham on keyboards, and Steve Bowman, as drummer, and the band was a regular in the Bay Area scene. The same year, the band signed to Geffen Records. January 16, 1993, the band, still relatively unknown, filled in for Van Morrison at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, and was introduced by an enthusiastic Robbie Robertson. At the ceremony, they played a cover of Van Morrison's "Caravan".
